‘Keepers’ is Scarborough’s dedicated Neighbourhood Watch group, run entirely by volunteers to enhance the safety of our community. Working in collaboration with CIS, the local security company, SAPS and SANParks, Keepers monitors and responds to suspicious activity through a network of radios and cameras that are funded entirely through annual voluntary contributions from residents.
It is through these efforts that Scarborough is generally a safe place to be, with an exceptionally low crime rate.
Ultimately, we are all Keepers: of ourselves, our pods, our village, our neighbours in Redhill, Misties, Ocean View and Kommetjie. If you’re walking, surfing, driving – be alert and active in helping to keep yourself and all of us safe.
